The original Bi-metal jet lever was a great idea in the day. It would automatically adjust mixture by temperature to maintain an even idle and help with emissions. However, modern fuels have a very different specific gravity compared to the 70's and 80's, the bi-metal lever can make it hard, if not impossible to set mixtures on these carbs.
